The Adventures of Sir Launcelot

“One day Sir Launcelot, set forth in search of adventure.

Launcelot became bored with everything and decided he wanted to go out and search for adventure in the world.

When I was younger I used to go outside and “investigate”, as I would call it.  I was interested in everything.  Like

Launcelot I became bored with my usual surroundings and wanted some adventure or excitement. My friend and I would usually go out as far as the boundaries our parents set for us would let us go. We’d “investigate” the surroundings and until we found something interesting or something that would take us on an adventure we wouldn’t go back inside. That’s usually how we thought of all our games.

In the classical tale of Pocahontas,  John Smith and his men ventured into a whole new world, seeking adventure, among other things. Like Launcelot, John Smith became board with his old surroundings and wanted news ones.  He sought out a whole new world with new challenges.  There were many adventures in store for him in the New World, with him falling in love with another woman of a different kind and other hardships.  The two tales match up in numerous ways this only being one of them.

“I suppose that the king arranged this truce only because he wanted to make me his mistress.”

Igraine found out that King Uther only arranged a truce with the Duke because he was told of Igraine’s beauty.

The last fight I was in or the big Drama incident as I would call it, was when my friend was going out with this guy who wasn’t very truthful with her, and I had to tell her that he was untrustworthy.  Just like Igraine told the Duke that King Uther was being untruthful about his whole idea of having a truce be held between them.  My friend was the Duke in this and I was Igraine.

The idea of this certain quote would be like in the old childhood story Snow White, where the witch tried to lure Snow White to eat the apple while posing as an old beggar woman. It’s sort of like the same thing where King Uther was posing as a nice man wanting a truce but he really wanted the Duke’s wife. The witch really wanted Snow White’s life and she poisoned her with an apple.  Although the witch got away with poisoning Snow White King Uther did not get what he wanted out of the making a truce and fought back.
